London Party City

Uber lists London, Ontario the number one party city in Canada.

It may not surprise that London, Ontario tops the list of Uber’s top 10 party cities in Canada.

Boasting one of Canada’s busiest party schools (Western University), the ride-sharing app based the list on rides between 10 P.M. and 2 A.M., with the Forest City topping out Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo.

Uber’s Top 10 Partying Cities in Canada:

1. London
2. Toronto
3. Kitchener-Waterloo
4. Kingston
5. Saskatoon
6. Vancouver
7. Winnipeg
8. Regina
9. Edmonton
10. Ottawa

With nightlife re-surging as COVID-19 restrictions disappear, Uber compiled its first Nightlife Index from data collected between September 2021 and September 2022.

Drawing from Uber Rides and Uber Eats data, the app shared insights highlighting the top partying nights of the year, the most unexpected next-morning food orders, and the top meal deliveries across the country.

Plus, according to the index, London is the country’s top party city, and Londoners also stay out partying the latest, with most rides recorded between 2 A.M. and 4 A.M. But it’s about getting home safe that matters.

“As we turn the corner on the pandemic and we are going out again with family and friends, we want to remind you not to drive impaired,” said Dawn Regan, Chief Operating Officer for MADD Canada (Mothers Against Drunk Driving. “Plan ahead, call a friend, have a designated driver, stay overnight, find a ride with the Uber app, or take transit to get home safely.

The Nightlife Index returned once Western hosted its first in-person homecoming since 2019. Nearly 7,000 people gathered on Broughdale Avenue on Sept. 24.

The index explains how important it is for anyone that’s gone out, and may have had a drink or two, has decided to take a ride home safely,” said London Mayor Ed Holder. “I think that’s an incredibly important statistic. In fact, I would rank London as the most responsible city in Canada.

And if the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that everyone’s missed reconnecting with our family and friends, and if one thing is true about Canadians, it’s that they know how to have fun in the rain, shine, or snow.
