Vancouver escort accused of drugging and robbing clients

She is accused of drugging and robbing men around the Lower Mainland and has been released on bail with court-imposed conditions.
Jessica Kane, a 30-year-old Vancouver escort, is facing a variety of criminal charges, including manslaughter. Videos circulating online showed Kane with a knife threatening to slit a naked man’s throat for his bank card PIN. Kane had been released on a $50,000 bail with conditions including 24/7 house arrest, except for a two-hour window on Friday afternoons to pick up necessities. She is also not allowed to work in any capacity that requires her to be inside another person’s private residence, or engage in sex work.
Local police are asking for anyone with information about the series of robberies Kane is accused of committing in Surrey, Burnaby, Langley, and Vancouver, in which men were drugged, to come forward.

The man who went to police after his alleged experience with Kane in December 2021 said he communicated with her by text message after seeing an ad for an escort on Leolist. He claims he was drugged and rendered unconscious for 15 hours, when the escort emptied his bank account via e-transfer. The mother of the man who died in February 2021, after hiring Kane, said her son was a successful businessman.
Susan Davis, an advocate for sex workers, said the Kane case is unfortunate because of the risk to other woman who provide sexual services. “We know what happens when you rob a client or you harm a client — the next sex worker pays the price in violence,” Davis said back in October.
