Winnipeg man arrested after Police officers allegedly threatened online

On Friday, a Winnipeg man was arrested after allegedly posting online threats against police officers and exhibiting suicidal tendencies.

Police arrived at the man’s apartment in the 300 block of Cumberland Avenue and evacuated residents due to public safety concerns and the man’s threats towards police.

Once the residents were safely evacuated, officers arrested the suspect after using a conductive energy weapon.

The suspect was medically cleared on the scene and no injuries were reported. The 35-year-old man now faces charges of uttering threats and mischief under $5,000 and has been detained in custody.
